Negative Comments now a Trend in Ghana

Social media is part of modern life and can be a great tool for marketing and communication with both customers and prospects. But what happens when the comments and public reactions turns negative? Negative comments are the new trend on social media in Ghana but why dont people move out when they have no interest in the brand or post that’s made on the page. Why do people write their negative opinions on social media in the first place?

When these “Negatives” are replied with positive comments in our kind of society, you will be seen as a looser and these negative minded people with prey on your page till they are blocked immediately.

That wouldn’t end there screenshots will be taken on your page and shown to people that you are not friendly because you block people after they comment on your page. Have you ever heard of internet trolls? Unlike bots, internet trolls are real people negatively commenting something related to your brand. They like provoking others to get their negative responses or just posting irrelevant content under your posts to get benefits.

Internet trolls are bad toxic people and if you respond to them, you might fall into the trap of an endless argument. Moreover if you try to quarrel with them to stay away, it would consume too much time and tarnish your brand image because “IF YOU ARGUE WITH A FOOL HE WILL BRING YOU DOWN TO HIS LEVEL”.

Also, arguing with them is pointless negative minded people comes up endlessly and you might get hurt emotionally.

Mostly in Ghana negative people comment on brand post by using these following things:

1. Insulting arguments and negative criticisms
2. Unnecessary grammar/ spell corrections
3. Invalid facts about the subject matter in discussion
4. Off-topic arguments
5. Rude and Swear words
6. Death threats from drug influenced people.

There is no need to panic because its easier to delete these negative comments from people who often hide behind social media to destroy peoples brands because of the “PULL HIM DOWN SYNDROME” attitude in the society where the successes of people attracts so much enemies because of jealousy and hatred.

But remember the next you see negative comments and you are at fault just acknowledge your mistakes and move on.
Also Take the conversation offline if negative comments are particularly aggressive and of a sensitive nature, take the conversation offline as soon as possible.

Next time don’t make assumptions in response but think before you react. Cheers!!!
